“Delicious” festivals, interesting paths to mountain huts, competitions of talented students – this is the minimum of what the partners of the Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network are planning.

Today the meeting of Ukrainian partners of the Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network took place.

Congratulations to the new owners of the certificates of quality and signs of the Carpathian Network of Culinary Heritage: Leibova Gora, Franko Restaurant, Kulchitsky Bakery (Natalia Kulchytska), hotel in Yaremche “Shovkova Kositsia”. From now on, we have the honor to cooperate with you under a common roof – the Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network!

The Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network was founded in April 2012 by the Ivano-Frankivsk Tourist Association (Ukraine), the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council (Ukraine), the Association of Ecologics (Romania), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the county Satu-Mare (Romania), the Association Chamois Bazaar (Hungary), Košice Regional Branch of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Slovakia) within the framework of the EU project “Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network”.

The aim of the network is to popularize the role and diversity of Carpathian cuisine and culinary traditions as factors of sustainable regional development and preservation of the local cultural heritage. The network is an informal international structure open to the representatives of the communities of other Carpathian regions, which has its own brand / sign and its own program of certification of the quality of its partners for the correspondence with this sign.

Creating the Network, founding organizations, proceeded from the fact that Carpathian cuisine and gastronomy, in particular in view of local traditions, culture, features and means of sustainable production, could become a significant factor in the preservation of cultural heritage, biodiversity, as well as socio-cultural development and enhancement the welfare of the Carpathian local communities. At the same time, in the target regions of the Network, the sectors of the production of traditional food and gastronomy are crucial for many rural communities.

Today the Network has 97 partners, including farms, restaurants, green homesteads, traditional food producers, educational institutions trained by specialists in the culinary and tourism sectors.

The Tourist Association of Ivano-Frankivsk region is the main coordinator of the Network, as well as its national coordinator in Ukraine.
