TAIF presented experience in attracting donor funding to create new tourist products and experience in Kakhovka, Kherson region on May 17-18, 2018, at the forum “Development of tourism in the conditions of new communities” .
The event gathered more than 200 representatives of local self-government bodies, activists of newly created OTGs of Ukraine, interested in finding new approaches, exchanging experiences and ideas, finding supporters and advisers on the development of local tourism potential and implementing new tourism initiatives.
The importance of tourism for economic development of the country was underlined by the government representatives who opened the forum: Ivanna Klimpush-Tsintsadze, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine (TBC), Mari Jovanovich, US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine (TBC) , Andriy Gordeyev, Head of Kherson Regional State Administration, Vasyl Poluiko, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ivan Liptuga, President of the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine, Adviser to the First Vice Prime Minister.
Moderator of the opening of the forum is the well-known leader of the national TRC Ukraine Yuri Makarov.
The working part of the forum was a work on sites whose names were symbolically tied up to natural areas – attractions of the Kherson region, for example, Oleshkivski sands, Dzharylgach Island, Lake Lemuria. Among the forum speakers in thematic sections “How to find, preserve and develop their tourism joy?”, “How to organize tourism in non-tourist destinations?”, “How can communities make money on tourism and be self-sufficient?”, “The obvious advantages of your community: how to see them?” and tell them about them “- Sergey Pidmogylny (head of the Ukrainian Association for Active and Ecological Tourism), Dmytro Ogniev (founder of the Merino-West Farmer’s Farms), Lada Malaniy (marketing expert and tourism product development TAIF).
The TAIF report was shifted to the generation and further use of the potential of the legacy economy, for example, the creation and development of a product of the Vyhoda Narrow Gauge Railway Heritage Centre, which was created within the framework of the EU project “Carpathian narrow-gauge railroads”.
Practical part of the forum – tours to tourist attractions of the Kherson region – Equestrian club “Grand Prix”, biosphere reserve Askania Nova other unique places of Kherson region, which, in a successful marketing campaign, could attract more responsible tourists, fans of active leisure and collectors of new experiences and experiences.
