International Carpathian culinary heritage network festival will be held in May 2013 and calls for cooperation

Public organization Tourist Association of Ivano-Frankivsk (TAIF), Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council and Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration launched the preparation of the International Carpathian Culinary Heritage Festival that is scheduled for the town day on May 10-11, 2013.

The festival will be held within the “Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network” project, which is implemented by TAIF in partnership with the Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration and cross-border project partners: Association “Ecologic”, Satu Mare Chamber of Commerce (Romania), Szamos-bazár Association (Hungary) and Košice regional branch of Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Slovakia). The project that is co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.

The festival is planned as the unique event that by all chances will turn our city into a pearl of culinary tourism, due to creative ideas of all stakeholders, hard work of the local community and bright promotion.

The master classes by the famous chefs from the Carpathian regions of Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine at the city’s popular restaurants, national cooking on the open air where everyone can enjoy traditional Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian cuisine and take part in the folklore and educational performances of the several European cultures crossroads, like gastronomic quest, singing lessons, dances, folk crafts’ workshops and others are planned as the main components of the festival.

Moreover, all motivated hosts from Ivano-Frankivsk region and neighboring regions are invited to participate in the exhibitions of homemade cans, jam, Carpathian drinks, honey, traditional herbs, accessories of traditional Carpathian cuisine, old photos etc.

Starting from January 3, 2013 the festival organization committee invites volunteers, participants of exhibitions and informational sponsors to take part in the festival (see details at www.www.www.taif.org.ua and www.mvk.if.ua).

All volunteers will obtain great experience in organization and delivery of international level public events; will have the opportunity to take active part in the festival actions and will be awarded by Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network.

Volunteers, participants and informational sponsors of the festival will be included into partners’ database of Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network that is hosted by the multilingual website of the Network and also will be mentioned in all promotional materials of the festival.

As of today the festival partners are: art-café “Marmuliada” – “23 restaurants” network (director Alina Tokmylenko), “Franko” restaurant (director Natalia Pokhidniak), “Korasini” restaurant (fortress gallery “Bastion”). These restaurants will host chefs from Hungary, Slovakia and Romania. The first informational sponsor of the festival is web-portal www.mozhlyvosti.in.ua.
